Rev. James Roy White was born in Kinston, North Carolina but
most of his childhood was spent in Waynesboro, Georgia. He is
the youngest of two sons of Bob and Bernice White. He is a 1978
graduate of Edmund Burke Academy. He and his wife, Kim (Smith)
of Harlem, Georgia were married in 1988 and were active at First
UMC in Waynesboro. The Whites have one daughter, Ansleigh.
Roy’s first sense of calling into the ministry came in the early
80’s and he began his ministry at Green’s Cut and Vidette UMC as
a lay speaker and then as a part-time Local Pastor in 1989. He
entered Augusta State University where he graduated in 1997 with
a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He attended Erskine
Theological Seminary in Due West, South Carolina where he
graduated in 2000 with a Masters of Divinity. Roy was ordained
as an elder in the South Georgia Conference of the United
Methodist Church in 2001. Edgewood is his fourth appointment,
having served Vidette & Green’s Cut UMC, Sardis/Ellis Chapel UMC,
and Wrens UMC before coming to Edgewood in June 2007. |

Dr. Qiao-Shuang
(Tracy) Xian serves as staff pianist for the Schwob School
of Music and teaches piano through the Columbus State
University Music Conservatory. Tracy was born in the city of
Shanghai in the Peoples' Republic of China. She began
playing piano at the age of four. In 1992, she received a
scholarship from the Schwob School of Music to persue her
studies in piano performance as a student of Steve Clark.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbus State University
in 1996. During this time, Tracy served as pianist for St.
John United Methodist Church. Under the love and care of
that congregation, she received Jesus Christ as her personal
Savior. She spent the next four years at Louisiana State
University completing her Masters and Doctorate Degrees in
piano performance, as a student of Constance Carroll. During
that time, she was pianist for University United Methodist
Church, and participated in the shows "The Cotton-Patch
Gospel" and "Fiddler on the Roof." In addition to her duties
at Edgewood, she performs with students, faculty, and
visiting artists at CSU. Tracy and her husband Steve Clark
have two sons: Stephen Christopher and Scott Gregory. Her
mother, Xiao-Yuan, recently moved from China to live with
them. |
